Re(1): More Sad News In Radio

Been sayin this for years. The only people who tout the value of 'live and local' are local jocks. Everywhere, music's identical, chosen at some home office, call letters are the same, people already know their hometown's name so don't need to be told, and jocks don't need to mention suburban names when they fake the slightly different temperature readings in their ADI.

iHeart and iTunes have demonstrated people don't care who generates the music or from which corporate headquarters.

Wait til we have national WIFI which hopefully will be the end of repetitive overplay on car radios. I get sooo sick of Eye of the Tiger and that genre as if its a current hit record. We have 50 years of greatest hits but no one will play them, even tho 70s and 80s have always been better than today's offerings and everyone remembers them!

Technology will kill the radio star, not that automation hasn't already! The interesting thing is that nobody is left to disagree...those folks from ten years ago in here are long gone.
