Of all the things the red-gold mare had expected to come of this situation, she had not predicted the palomino mare opting to willingly follow Tyr anyway. It stung poignantly of Oswin's betrayal and the young General froze in place, stiffening as the outcome of the scenario became clear.
It didn't matter if Tyr was a bully and a tyrant. It didn't matter that he had never saw fit to apologize for the callous way he had terrified and used her family. It didn't matter that he had broken Rade's promises, nor that he had been so cold as happily keep a prisoner in the Lagoon.
He was handsome and he was smart and that was apparently, all that mattered to other mares.
Gritting her teeth, the Peak General only inclined her head as the three of them all turned to take her leave, her body practically vibrating with the frustration that was building slowly in her core. She didn't understand the point of it anymore. Why was she even in the Peak? She couldn't protect anyone, let alone another blonde-headed idiot who thought the sun shone out of Tyr's ass.
"I hope that you are right for your own sake." She muttered, the words terse but nowhere near as acerbic as she would like it to be. Djuna had taken her fate into her own hands, and heaven only knew how badly she would come out of it. Roisin couldn't force her to the danger, even when it was a looming, 18 hand monstrosity that was hard to ignore.
Just like Oswin, she could do nothing but stand aside and let Tyr have his way... again.
Bitterly and more jaded than she had been when she'd entered the Commons with every intention of helping this mare, the young General turned toward the Peak alone to consider what would come next.
