Hi everyone welcome to my plotter thread thingy, inspired by Jessy!
Like most of us I have a few characters laying around that could really use some attention in the form of plots. Before we start a few things to know:
• I'm pretty flexible when it comes to plotting. Whether you prefer to plan things out meticulously or just set basic milestones, I can go either way.
• I'm kind of a slow poster and quality and length can vary depending on how I'm feeling, but I'll always try my best to make my posts equal in length and quality.
• I'm way too dedicated for my own good and will probably want to do nothing but talk plot ideas. Please tell me to shut up if you need to lmao.
Anyway, onto it. I only have a few characters listed because these are the ones I mostly want to focus on, all my others are either already wrapped up in plots or they're on the back burner. I've got several ideas (rough or otherwise) for each of them, so if any pique your interest please reach out! Here goes!
OSMANTHUS • I'd like to introduce someone from his past. Either his former love interest who he believes died in battle (a stallion named Anso), or someone else he may have fought alongside. Alternatively, the relative or mate of one of the people he killed in battle could be interesting to have around. This plot would be good for someone who has a dusty character sitting around with no backstory that they want to flesh out, or someone itching to join a new character.
• Another potential plot would be focused around his pacifism and dealing with a conflict with another leader. I could see him being issued a challenge for one of his mares, and then being forced to choose between upholding his peaceful values or resorting to old habits and pummeling the crap out of them. Either way he'd feel terrible afterwards. I don't think I'd want to do an actual official RP battle however, but if it came down to it I'd toss him into a dice roll and then thread out the battle/results from there.
The only problem I see with this is that 1) Osmanthus never leaves the Harbor and 2) he never really acts in a way that would cause anyone to dislike him (or at least he likes to think so) and so I'd find it hard to believe that he just made a random enemy somewhere. It'd probably have to be more of a chance encounter - someone stumbling upon his home and deciding they like someone there enough to try and take them.
• I'd also be open to new romance plots with him with existing characters, male or female. He leans towards males but is more than willing and able to pursue relationships with females too.
• Platonic friendships always welcome of course <3
MARCELINE • Probably needs love. Probably will fight it every step of the way.
• She can always use more enemies. She's currently digging herself into a deep hole with this feud between her and her son Joachim, and it's making her blind to her more destructive actions. Deep down she's slowly coming to the realization that she's just a bad person, lmao. But she has yet to consciously acknowledge it. I kind of want her to do more bad things so she can feel terrible about them but not truly understand why. She will gladly fight anyone over anything at this point.
• She does have a couple younger siblings who could potentially be introduced as new characters, if someone is inclined. There's also the possibility of her former lover (you know, the one she cheated on the king with, got herself kicked out over) coming back to haunt her.
ARACHNE • This is a new character I haven't joined but have had in mind for awhile, I'd just like to lay down some solid plots for her before I do.
• She is a chimeric Curly horse mix (smokey grulla minimal sabino with cream grulla patches), about 5 years old.
• She's extremely naive, trusting, and often vastly overestimates her ability to care for herself. To be honest, she's kind of an airhead. She was the doted-on golden child who had to be looked after by her grudge-holding younger sibling because she was always getting into trouble and could never get herself out.
• I can see her being very easily manipulated by some big baddie who obviously has ill intentions. But she wouldn't realize that and would willingly follow them, ultimately getting herself stuck somewhere she shouldn't be. More drama would be made when her younger sibling is eventually joined and has to try to come rescue her.
• I'd also be open to something much lighter and sweeter than that, like maybe her meeting someone and them becoming smitten with one another, only to have her get them both in trouble. But nothing too serious, just some light hearted stuff (unless angst and drama is your thing in which case I'm always down!) Whether or not the relationship ultimately lasts can be decided on later or played by ear.
DJUNA - She's not currently doing much. She's been escorted to the Falls by Tyr, and may end up in the Lagoon if she goes with him willingly from there. But I'd still like to try and have her do some stuff around the Islands.
- She's a very gentle, empathetic soul who tries her best to see the good in everyone. She feels everything deeply and wants nothing more than to help those around her, but is at a loss as to how.
- I imagine she's the kind who makes friends wherever she goes, as she makes a point to always show kindness to those she meets. She wouldn't be the kind for enemies, but I can see her having lots of acquaintances.
- I'd ultimately like to pair her off with someone who's kind of her opposite - gruff, stoic, taciturn - someone she could get to slowly open up to her. Because honestly I'm a sucker for that trope.
