Re(1): Only WORTH A Quarter!!!

Well the older dollar coins were way too large and heavy to carry around; their sizes were decided decades ago well before inflation made smaller coins worth so little.

What can they do? Nickels and dimes were fine for early ending machines, and pennies are now virtually worthless and a waste of metal.

Today, what can you buy for less than a dollar and who wants to carry the big bulky bag of metal to buy a $2 candybar or air up your tires?

The big 50 cent pieces were too big. The quarters have always had the ridges on the edges so they were identifiable.

Surely they didn't put them on the slightly different sized dollar coins, did they? I dont even carry coins or folding money for that matter; I just throw them in the console of my truck, gather em up occasionally and take 5 minutes cashing them in to buy something small at the convenience store.

I've been using a debit card for everything. Time for states to round taxes up to the nearest nickel and start getting rid of pennys which cost more to handle than to count.
