In my name shall they cast out demons

Mother I am here,
I can hear your song

Breathing felt easier now that Rougaru was gone. She had not seen this outcome coming, but she couldn’t say she was left disappointed. The only sting she felt was from the disappearance of Akela and their youngest daughter Cotynga. She knew Akela must have followed his family where ever they had scurried off to, but she was surprised with Cotynga. I guess the girl was close with her daddy, but without saying goodbye? Hormones were not doing good things for the filly. A heavy sigh leaves her chest as the mix of emotions fill her gut. She is relieved with the emptiness of Paradise, the exit of all her tension, but now she is left with the heartache of absence. Not for Rougaru and his herd, but for the little family she has created here.

Eeva presses her muzzle to her mother’s shoulder to provide what comfort she could to the mare. Bathsheba smiles lightly, nuzzling her eldest child for the support, as her mind begins to wonder what they should do next. With Paradise abandoned they could go anywhere they wanted, but she had no idea where else to go. Her children were born here, she was born here, but I guess she could visit the Harbor where Himena had technically been living before her death. Bathsheba was sure new owners held the place now, but it might be good to take a look around for memory sake. Afterwards they could travel north…the thought of the cold was unpleasant, but meeting her father might not be a bad idea. Vihar was the inspiration after overhearing the threats Rougaru was making to the young mare about Solomon. Finding out why the hatred was so deep wouldn’t be a bad thing.

A loud bellow averts her attention towards the beach. A male’s voice. Eeva tenses beside her mother, but Bathsheba decides to investigate the call. Someone sounded angry, but she wanted to see the surprise as they weren’t met by Rougaru or his sons. Both mares travel towards the edge of the jungle, but neither leave it’s protection as they gaze across the beach for the stallion. To their surprise, they find Vihar embracing a stallion that shares a resemblance to her own patterned coat. No words could be understood from their distance, but something odd stirred in the gut of the older mare. ”Mom…” Eeva whispers as her mother begins to step into the open. Bathsheba gives her a smile. ”It is okay baby. I don’t think this stranger will bring us harm, but just in case stay back behind me.” Bathsheba couldn’t explain it with words, but she just knew no harm would come to them today.

She calls out as she gets closer, Eeva stepping closely behind her mother.

I can feel your fear,
he's done you wrong
