Re(2): Top Gun's Greatest Hits

Thats the philosophy and I resume its as it aways was, your competitor is just a pushbutton away. Well I've seen people punch out of amateur commercials and songs run into the ground.

Happened with Nights in White Satin, Bridge, Procol Harem, Green Baret and many others that stayed on billboard way too long. I think that's where we aae with Top Gun, back for what, the third time?

YOure right about the philosophy but shouldn't be surprised that people have left radio because of overplay. People just aren't like dogs who'll eat the same thing every day.

I like oldies not to take me back to top40 radio but to surprise me and take me back to the dorm or the girl I was dating, or the hot summer, or American Forces Radio back inthe day.

G'Morning Vietnam did exactly that for millions of us. Rocks been rockin for half a century and much of it was very good stuff (after the end of bebop.) But radio jocks turned MD's grew u on top 40 while the rest of us bought albums and got stoned with our friends. We were NOT listening to the radio playing released singles.

IF oldies really are about reminescing, familiarity isn't the strategy. It's dry dogfood or another big mac. Thats why fast food places change up their menus fm time to time.
