Marceline is feeling confident after her win against the behemoth bachelor who'd answered her call at the Lagoon's edge. He was a monster compared to her, in both height and size, but somehow she'd managed to best him and claim Isiksiz for herself. In the interim between leaving the Lagoon and returning to Salem, the red queen makes her way to the Commons, high on adrenaline and determined to make the most of her time here.
She's only just arrived when she lays eyes on a pretty palomino mare, her coat still gleaming with sea water, making her way through the clearing. Marceline does not pause for long to watch, spurring herself into action. She meets the mare head-on, letting out a greeting nicker as she gets within earshot.
"Bonjour," she says with an amiable smile, coming to a halt. The spotted mare smells like sea water, and underneath it is something strange, unfamiliar. She's new here, Marceline realizes, pleased that she's managed to spot her before anyone else can lay their claim. "I am Marceline. And I see you are traveling alone. I'm heading the same direction. Mind if I keep you company?" She plans to regardless, having already decided she moment she saw the stranger, but the mare's cooperation will certainly make the process a whole lot easier for them both.
