Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

peace & trust can win the day

He’s curious. He’s curious about the world around him, so big and bright. Thor was bright. Thor would be big someday… not today, though. No, not today. Today he is a weanling colt, all spindly legs and knocked knees. Learning how to navigate, and doing… as best he can. Doing as best he can. He will be the best some day… not today. Today he’s Thor. Today, Thor is going wandering. Though Frey’s watchful eye is never far off, the red stallion allows the colt to meander. It’s nice to get a moment of peace from the constant questions, and it’s nice to get… a break. He deserves it. The colt will develop some independence, which is probably good for him too.

Frey keeps to a rise where he can (mostly) see the sooty shadow of the colt, even when he’s a bit beyond reach. Yes, he can see well enough. He can intervene if necessary. Somehow, he doubts it will be necessary. Thor isn’t being asked to fend for himself, after all. No, he’s only given his son a chance to explore, to roam a bit. A little exploration is good for a growing boy… or something. He won’t hover.

He doesn’t hover. Thor is developing a bit more sureness to his step as he moves across the soft earth, feeling the way his hooves dig in. It’s wonderful, really. No, like really wonderful. The colt doesn’t hold back his joy. There’s an incredible lightheartedness to him as he moves, despite being a bit awkward on his feet. The colt would be tall, that was for certain. Very tall. Maybe even too tall, depending on who you ask. That’s okay, though. He’s okay. More than okay– he’s great.

Large, dark eyes fall on a stranger. He doesn’t live here. Thor knows that much. His ears pitch forward, head quirking to the side. The question on his lips is the same as it was the last time he’d met a stranger, but with no dad to answer. No, this time he needs to address the stranger outright. Okay, that was okay. “Who?” His voice bright and ringing, doing his best to look confident– just like dad. Dad looked relaxed and confident around strangers. Thor could do the same. He strode closer, trying to mimic the way he’d seen Frey do the same thing. The most important thing, perhaps, was that he leave enough space to flee into the safety of the swampy brush if need be. An expectant gaze on the tall man’s face. Who?
