Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

frey & thor

They’re quite the pair. Really, you’d never know that Frey had no idea what he was doing… or at least, in his mind no one could tell. That was good enough, right? No one needed to know. No one needed to know that Frey was taking the whole fake it until you make it approach. He gazes lazily at the stranger, though his mind is moving far faster. It’s a quick assessment. Judgment. A swift judgment. As swift as he could make it, at least. He was trying not to be too obvious about it, but it was hard to do anything less, especially as the stranger voiced his intentions. He wanted to join the bachelor’s ranks.

Jin, the name comes. It’s short. Good. At least in that way, he’d fit in well among the likes of Tyr, Frey, Thor, Rade… Rade. Frey would push that last thought from his mind for now. There were far bigger things at hand than the worries about the aged boss, right? Right. Thor is the first to speak though, delighted to answer Jin’s question. “Thor… what’dya do?” The words come out in a rush, all mashed together. The colt gazes openly now, curious as he observes Jin. Undying curiosity. Unbridled. Unchained. Brilliant.

“I don’t think you can just ask people that,” but he chuckles all the same. His son, it seemed, hadn’t met a stranger. Not yet. There was no such thing. “I’m Frey, one of the standing army.” He wouldn’t mention that he was going after his father’s title. He wouldn’t mention that he was the general’s son. Frey would do enough to earn his own title now, to take it for himself. Seize it clearly, and plainly. Still, he states his affiliation plainly– he is, in fact, one of the stallions of the Lagoon.

There’s something that Thor has gotten right, though. The sooty child plainly asked Jin what he does, and for that… he’s maybe not off base. Still, Frey has another question to ask the stranger before they get that far. “Why do you want to join us?” While there isn’t necessarily suspicion in his voice, there’s something else. He needed to know Jin’s motivations before anything else, right? Sure. Maybe he could lie, but Frey would burn that bridge when he got there.
