The research has always shown except career gangsters, the recidivism for murder is exceedingly low. Most are acts of impulse only in the presence of a handy tool--a veritable perfect storm for our species killing each other. And we don't even eat our prey!!
I'm not going to write a thesis on the subject but my experience is that this research is true. Even killer cops don't do it a second time. What few exceptions are probably always quoted by prosecutors seeking a death penalty so I'm not sure that argument is valid.
I'd be more inclined to think getting rid of the handy tools would be easier to prove in court or the legislature unless the NRA's funding the propaganda. They have pretty deep pockets, judging from how many Congressmen they own. Replies: There have been no replies.
