As he had suspected, the pale mare throws a kick to him as Fell rushes her. Her hooves thump indirectly against his chest, prompting little more than a huff of breath from him -- he had been quick enough to close the dangerous gap, and minimize the impact of her kick, but he is sure the blow will still bruise some. He has no time or interest in worrying about such a minuscule injury now, however.

The pale mare bolts, and Fell moves to chase after her. He keeps his distance, letting her find her way out of the woods, watching with predatory gaze as she flies into a gallop in the open field. Fell's stride lengthens as he pushes after her, feathered hooves carving up the soft ground beneath them. He is not the most agile stallion, but he is far from ungainly, and he is accustomed to the more treacherous terrain of the Bay. The welcoming earth of the Commons seems to aid in his chase, and the mare's pale hindquarters and flashing tail soon fill his vision again.

Her sudden halt and buck do throw him off, however. Fell knows he cannot successfully stop in time to avoid running into her, so instead he veers to the side as he hits the brakes. Her hooves strike out at him again as he passes her and circles, clods of dark earth flinging out from beneath him as he spins to face her.

Fell halts, then, his breath coming quickly through flared nostrils. He waits for her to bolt again, but does not immediately give chase. He blows air at her, taunting, almost playful. We can keep running, he seems to say as he waits for her next move as though this is a game. He can see the ocean behind her, and his golden eyes flicker between the pale mare and the dark sea. There is a chance she could escape him, but if she chooses to try, he will go after her again.
