I found a patch of this distinctive member of the Teasel Family directly outside the entrance to the Gravenhurst YMCA scattered amongst other weedy plants. Creamy Pincushion Scabiosa ochroleuca was first recorded in Ontario in 2015 in an abandoned field near Arnprior west of Ottawa. Inaturalist shows three other records but one was planted and one is actually Queen Anne’s Lace while only the third record on Sauble Beach is legitimate! So this represents the third Ontario record, I believe. The plant is widespread in eastern Europe with only a few records from eastern North America.
