This essentially means that it is acceptable to use these pages to seek sponsorship for The Fusiliers Aid Society (which includes Fallen Fusiliers), and The Fusilier Memorial fund only. We now have our own dedicated justgiving site (http://www.justgiving.com/fusiliersaidsociety), which you can use to help raise money for your cause. If you let RHQ (Asst Regt Sec) know the specific cause you are raising money for, it will be directed to the correct fund. Lt Col Mike McDonald our Regimental Sec North is going to Beligum for a reburial of 2nd Lt Frank Wood from Oldham who served with 1st 7th LF and later 1LF who was killed and his body in an unnamed grave at VICHTE MILITARY CEMETERY his name will be put on his grave stone on Tuesday.

A rededication service for Second Lieutenant Frank Wood, 1st Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers will take place at 11.30am (local time) on 18th October 2022 at CWGC Vichte Military Cemetery, Belgium.

Second Lieutenant Frank Wood died on 30th September 1918 whilst serving with 1st Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers. He was previously commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial.

CWGC has marked his recently identified grave with a Commission headstone, bearing his name and personal inscription chosen by his family, and will care for it in perpetuity. The service has been organised by the British Ministry of Defence�s Joint Casualty and Compassionate Centre and will be attended by his family, Defence Staff, Regimental representatives, CWGC staff and local dignitaries. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
