With an innocent heart, she loves

Eness
..mare..five..arabian..black rabicano..15.1 hh..

Things had certainly taken a turn in the last few seasons, from losing their land and then to the brother’s disappearing altogether. Eness hadn’t a clue as to where to go now. She wanted to chase after her husband, demand his answers as to why things had taken such a terrible turn but her heart pulled her in another direction instead of following in the footsteps of her family. Atair would be upset no doubt, but she knew he would understand her reasoning, for while her soul lived within him, her heart however was still here on the islands and just like Eness had fled the dunes.

At first she was hot on the trail of her wayward darling but then the waves of the ocean had pulled her under, tossing her to and fro in their madness, as though shaking sense into the mare who was still dead set on continuing on. Once whatever fate controlled these waters realized it was more than happy to spit her back onto pale sands and for a moment as she laid there she expected herself to be back in the dunes. She gives herself a minute to refrain her breath and heave the salt water from her lungs, cracking open her eyes to glance at peaceful greenery she’d not been able to enjoy in a while. So the fates had deemed her wish and journey to be allowed then.

She blinks her gratitude, wet lashes closing over her tired gaze but she felt it within her that Sakhmet was not far, and so she pulls herself up to shaky legs that force her tossed and beaten body to climb up the beach side and into the trees. The path she follows is the one Sakhmet had gone along, her scent teasing Eness’s nose that guides the way through the foliage and onto a grassy plain of other lingering scents, but none mattered at all to the mare who had eyes only for the pale figure of her beloved.

“Sakhmet,” Eness tried not to let her voice crack as stumbled steps are taken in the mares direction, desperate to touch her and to know she was safe but she hesitates, unsure as she pulls herself just short of crossing that invisible line. Her heart weeps for the woman she loves, and for the path Eness’s wayward soul had led them on.
