Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

Psychedelic did as he could to keep his thoughts veiled behind his yellow eyes as Rehobam spoke. He asked to be restored to a member of the Lagoon and to be allowed to go after his mare and child, which was a request easy enough for Psychedelic to grant. It was good he held his tongue, because when Rehobam spoke again he offered a suggestion that significantly sweetened the deal.

“I'd even consider giving you my support if you agree to let me leave with them once I have them back.”

Beneath the frizzled, long tangles of his pale mane Psychedelic regarded the painted stallion opposite him. If there was any opposition dragging their metaphorical heels on the idea of a changed Lagoon, the support of their former Marauder and a man who’d worked for a changed Lagoon before would be perfect. Even these stallions who did not know Psychedelic any longer at least knew Rehoboam. They could at least trust his word.

All for the mare and foal, off stranded in Paradise. Involved fathers did stupid things for their children; Psychedelic had been plagued like that once. He'd never have that sort of attachment again. Never let anyone make him that weak.

Psychedelic pushed away at the smile that wanted to slither its way over his mouth, deciding he wouldn’t gloat at the stallion turning his back so quickly on the Lagoon that’d once been. It was all he needed to further justify that he was right in what he wanted to do here. It was time for this place to go back to the way it was.

Satisfied he’d given enough time after Rehoboam spoke to make it seem as though he had to contemplate the offer more deeply than he did, Psychedelic hummed and gave a short nod. “Alright, we have a deal.” Elation swelled up inside his chest, thinking how well this had worked out for him, even more than he’d initially assumed. “You’re a Lagoon member, free to do as you please; go win your girly back. And sure, once you have them, you’re all free to go on your merry way.” Far, far away from the hell Psychedelic was hoping to tug the Lagoon back down to. It really would be better that way for both of them. Psychedelic wanted the least amount of resistance to his seizure of the Lagoon as possible.

“Just remember,” he said, and might’ve arched his brow as he looked a bit pointedly at the paint, “Make me sound good.” And then he grinned, a raspy chuckle bubbling out of his mouth.
