PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

High dive into frozen waves

Clarity

It was an awkward, but respectful greeting between Peak sisters. Neither were friends, but they weren’t actually enemies. Anyone watching the conversation would know just by looking at the pair that they didn’t belong together. Though they lived similar lives here, they were very different individuals. Some ideals may be the same, but they grew up very different. And not so different at the same time. Her head nods as Rói asks to confirm her name. ”Yes,” she answers plainly. This was a long overdue conversation between the two mares, but it may not go anywhere. Clairty grinds her teeth as Rói thanks her for stepping in for the Peak. She felt utterly powerless losing that battle. It was as if age was slowly bringing down the skill she once had in battle.

”It was nothing I haven’t done before for the my sisters.” Which was true. She has fought battles to keep the Peak members safe in the past, but she has also won in the past. Since then, she hasn’t won a battle and she didn’t know why. She just wanted to be stronger to keep others from experiencing the pain of loss she has. Keep them all safe even if she didn’t exactly like who they were. Ebony and ivory ears perk up as Roi speaks next. Her head lifts slightly as blue eyes stare more intensely at her Prime Minister. Her head nods slightly even though she wasn’t sure she was ready to walk down this path with Róisín. She didn’t expect the question that follows. The mare could feel her muscles tighten under her skin in response.

A strong warrior…Clarity shakes her head in protest. ”I may get lucky sometimes, but I would not say I am strong. Not lately at least.” Back then she had been in better form, but still she did not feel being the General was the right path. ”I’m not sure I am a teacher. The General should be the strongest among the group and willing to teach the warriors under her. I am not the strongest nor am I the best at teaching.” Would she like to someday? Sure, but even her own children would say she hadn’t been the best at teaching them about the world. She has to get this dilemma from her mother. Also a friendly, loving face, but Cherish had never been great at teaching her about danger. Only that she kept falling prey to it over and over again.

”When I first came to the Peak I was a little filly. The mares of the Peak at that time were very mighty. They were all powerful in their own right and they were tightly bound together. I looked up to many of them as they fought the Lagoon for peace on these islands. No one here now can surpass the things they taught me to look for in a leader. Not even myself.” Róisín never got to meet them (or least she assumed she didn’t) so she could never understand. The Peak was so different when she first came here and it would never be that way again. But she can still feel them. Their ghosts still linger here trying to protect all within these mountains.
