The pain of losing her sibling and her brother was a far-off memory compared to her mother who still waits for them. It wasn’t like she didn’t care, but it has been two years since their disappearance. Eeva was over waiting for something to happen. If anything, she now believes being away from Paradise might be the trick to finding them. But this would not be her main mission. Moving on with her life, hell, starting a life of her own was. She said goodbye to her mother in Paradise and plunged into the sea. The warmer temperature of the Atlantis sea changes the closer she gets to the mainland. Eeva can’t imagine living anywhere cold after being born and raised in warmth. Who knows where life would take her next, but she was ready for the adventure. She reaches the place her mother has only described to her in stories. The commons, a place where herd leaders came to claim new members. If she was lucky, she would have a new home by winter.
Dark legs leave the sea behind to grace the land with her steps. Delicately, she dances forward leaving a small trail of water behind. As soon as she gets to the grass, she shakes herself free from all the water she could before walking onward. She didn’t wish to meet her first suitor looking like a drenched animal, but so be it. That was the price the islanders paid for having to swim to get anywhere. The mare smiles when she takes in the scenery of the Commons. It was so different than Paradise. Her dark lips reach down to take her first bite of mainland grass. Even the taste was different…would she get used to all this change?
