Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

Things fell together in pieces. One thing his matured age taught him was patience, which was proving more valuable than he may have ever considered. The Lagoon was growing, even if its advance was slow, and he was grateful it was going anywhere at all. There were active herds from island to island, which was as good of news as it was bad. It was good because it gave plenty of feeding grounds for the bachelors to feast, but it was bad because it meant every herd was more on guard than they’d been in the past. Sneaking and bullying little trinkets out of their borders wasn’t as easy as it was before.

But Psychedelic had grown up a fighter for the Lagoon, and it was all too natural a role to step back into. He challenged where he pleased, and his disinterest in keeping prizes for his own meant he turned around and shared the wealth to whoever in the Lagoon actually wanted it. It made him look generous, but the truth was Psychedelic’s pleasure all came from the action of taking a prize - the fear and the adrenaline of the fight - not so much the aftermath.

The Lagoon boss walked along the fringes of the Lagoon, noticing two figures nearby. One was dark, but instantly familiar, the other was a stranger. As Psychedelic drew closer he caught the last of what the white-flecked stallion had asked. “Yup,” he answered for Gael as he walked up, looking over the newcomer with a curious eye. “This is the Lagoon. You need a place to stay?” Every stallion was welcome here, those were the rules. The foundation of acceptance for a strong brotherhood Psychedelic was attempting to build. “You have it here.”

He regarded the stallion standing nearer the tree and said, “Good to see you stop by, Gael.” He hoped this meant the dark stallion was keen to join the Lagoon for good. His ideals seemed to line up with exactly what Psychedelic wanted to see here, it was truly a perfect marriage.

“Ah, I’m the boss here by the way,” he added, sliding his eyes back to the other stallion, “name’s Psychedelic, most just call me Psych.”
