Re the Rifle Company Butterworth (RCB). The following are extracts from the Parliament Hansard Reports Page 5864 of 16/06/2014...Rules of engagement were of a defensive nature and to be applied within the Base only. There was never any emergency ground defence capacity, other than for exercise purposes. No record exists of any ground defence emergency occuring. It is considered that the level of risk with the ADF service at RAAF Butterworth from 1966 (post-confrontation), does not justify a warlike classification. The RCB service is appropriately classified as peacetime service. Here endeth the lesson! Replies:
