Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

Annubis does not disappoint. The first question he asked at the news - “What? They were that desperate?” - once again made Psychedelic grin. “Something like that,” he said. In a way, that was the truth. The Lagoon itself had been desperate for a mind like his to take it’s helm, Psychedelic had felt it deep in his bones as soon as his pale hooves squelched the familiar soft, loamy, turf of the territory. Those living here may not have been so desperate, were the leaders not so hushed and the place not picked apart by the herd leaders as they’d been. Either way, Psychedelic’s arrival had brought something it seemed those remaining here (prior boss notwithstanding, considering he’d tried to straight-up murder Psychedelic) had been desperate for change, if nothing else.

It was unsurprising to him when Annubis declined, but Psychedelic did not fault him for that. The buckskin had been of the sun, sand, and surf even when Psychedelic washed up in the Shore and took it for his own. Plus, moving what few girls he had attached to them here among this now lawless land was definitely not a smart idea. Psychedelic, never really afflicted with the masculine need to covet pretty girls, intended to allow the bachelors to squabble amongst themselves for who claimed which trinket as theirs. He’d bring the pretty girls back to them, then chuck them like a rare steak to starved wolves, letting the boys pounce and keeping them well-fed and content. It was the best way, he felt, to keep himself both in power here and turning the Lagoon back the way it needed to be.

Actually… Annubis started, drawing Psychedelic’s eyes and focus back on him. Psychedelic listened carefully as Annubis spoke, intrigued by the offer now laid in front of him. While the Lagoon was technically not meant to have official allies, there was certainly a workaround in putting a ceasefire over a particular territory, right? The Shore would be free of the destruction and havoc Psychedelic aimed to spread across the islands and, in turn, there would be a safe place for himself and the Lagoon boys to rest if they wanted to escape the snow drifts and freezing temperatures of winter.

For Psychedelic who had a lifelong hatred of winter and an affection for Atlantis, it was everything he could have wanted.

If it were anyone but Annubis suggesting it, the old overo stallion would have blown a huff of air, flipped his ears back and told them to take their unofficial alliance and stuff themselves with it. Instead, Psychedelic hummed as though he was thinking it over, then said, “Alright, I like this idea. Looks like you’re not just pretty looks after all, there’s actually a brain in there too.” He couldn’t help but add the playful dig, even winking with a grin. “I’ve always been fond of Atlantis and hate cold winters… I’ll refrain from causing trouble in the Shore so long as me and my boys are welcome to come crash there. I’ll tell them to behave themselves when they’re there, too.” It wouldn’t do if they started harassing the herd, after all. That would be a sure-fire way to get their asses kicked right back out.

“You’ve got yourself a deal, Sunshine.”
