Use caution when the wolf comes knocking;

He had not spent very much time with Sinaet or Canis, even before he had taken off on his impossible quest beyond the islands, a fact that hits home now that the pretty dark haired mare stands fully within his sights. Though not nearly as thin boned as Vanya and the many other desert dwelling horses he had come across as of late, the old wolf found himself pleased to see that despite this, she did not appear to be malnourished or suffering in the dramatic change of scenery.

His saucer-like hooves shuffle beneath him, spraying fresh turned sand over the frosted path he cut on the dry earth. He keeps his gaze locked on her own, taking note of the way her emerald eyes trace the contours of his muscular body. However like himself, those startling eyes hide her emotions well, at least to him anyway. The only emotion he recognizes is the wry grin as it slides easily across her lips, tugging the corners upward and giving new life to the sun-soaked glitter in her gaze. This alone is enough to quicken the pace of his heart and his hooves. His walk transforms itself into a slow-paced trot, the excitement building within him. This was just what he needed, a companion with no ulterior motives… well, at least none that he nor the beast can immediately think of. Sure Vanya would never turn him away should he seek her company (though as her pregnancy began to wind down she was far more dangerous than a sand viper these days), but always the painted ballerina had her plans, her fascinations, her game of chess. Calypso too was here. Long gone was his worry that the heavily pregnant mare might once more make for the open ocean in an attempt to flee his grasp. Whatever horror had struck her before seemed to have wiped away all memory of what had once transpired between them. He was once again her savior, though even that seemed to depend on the time of day. She was Calypso, but also not. Like Vanya, she too carried his unborn child and while she was far less likely to rip his head off than the desert queen, she still seemed less than thrilled as of late to entertain his companionship.

However as he approaches, the beautiful bay roan mare moves. Instead of allowing him to come alongside her, brushing his burly shoulder against her own in affection, she pivots on her heels to face him. Confusion brings his dark ears forward amid the thick mantle of his cream and caramel locks as the stallion focuses his own multifaceted gaze on hers. She circles around him, her bright chocolate coat brushing the faintest of touches against his hip, sending shivers of pleasure racing along his spine. A deep toned purr rumbles from somewhere deep within his breast. He follows her now, craning his great neck to watch through the thick veil of his wind tattered mane as she comes alongside his shoulders with an impish smile of her own falling easily into place. The result widens the wolfish grin upon his own lips. ’I’d love to’ the words were music to his ears. He clears his throat. ”Good.” he manages to mumble without falling too obviously over the word. He takes a step forward, the cool morning air a sharp and sudden reminder of just how warm the contact of her skin had left his. ”I.. Had hoped that you and Canis were settling in well here. Shall we visit the oasis for a drink?”
