Opening Day Memories?
IP: 208.38.246.20

To fill in the time before the racing season gets started!

My favorite opening day memories of Oswego were when the Port City 150 first began and was the opener (74-78?).

I loved seeing all the new cars and paint jobs plus the mods were in the pits and they were always a bonus.

And after all the cold weather, Port City weekend back then (except for 1976) was usually sunny and warm. The new paint jobs looked awesome in the sunshine.

We sat on the back straight and I remember watching the new cars getting pushed around the inner access road back to their pits as they tried to fire for the first time.

Always great especially after reading in the Mini-Eagle or Gater Racing News what was being built over the winter and what was being rumored.
