Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

as love and it's decisive pain

KNOW THAT I WOULD GLADLY BE
the icarus to your certainty

Devi’s cries tore him apart, his heart shattering with each gasping, shuddering breath she gave and how tightly she pressed into him. He muttered soft, comforting sounds and brushed his lips over her hair, across her neck, and even over her tear-soaked cheeks. Tears stung his eyes, even, hurt by seeing his little girl like this.

And she was his little girl and always would be, no matter what her genealogy was. Orphiel had thought what he was doing was right when he’d separated himself from Parvati, he’d convinced himself Devi would be fine with the other father’s she had. Standing here now, holding onto her as she sobbed and struggled to speak, he inwardly cursed himself for being so caught up in his own issues he’d overlooked Devi for so long and what she may need.

Finally she was able to speak, her voice ragged from how much she’d cried. You have to come. Mom said she’ll be fine, but I’m scared.

Though he was already plenty alert, just those couple sentences from Devi made him even more-so. Orphiel felt his chest tighten as apprehension and fear swelled up inside him. Something was wrong with Parvati? He waited patiently for Devi to speak, not wanting to push her any more than she’d clearly already been pushed. She told him of a challenging stallion who’d come to try and take the Inlet away, of Parvati’s success, but the cost she paid for it. Orphiel could feel the slamming beat of his heart in his chest.

Gone was the anger that’d grown, only replaced now by concern. At the root of it all he still did love Parvati, and maybe always would, and the thought of her being injured sent a chill down his spine.

Please help her.

He looked into Devi’s tear-lined eyes and spoke without a pause of hesitation. “Okay,” he said, his voice more firm and assured than he thought he would be. Orphiel even nodded before he spoke again, “Okay, I’ll… I’ll do what I can, Devi.”

He worried Parvati wouldn’t want to see him - he’d been so cruel to her (by his standards) when they’d last crossed paths, so angry at her to give all his confusing feelings another face to be enraged with. But none of that mattered now. Even if he got there and Parvati didn’t want him there, Orphiel knew the truth of his nature - he would do anything to help her. Despite everything, the love he had for her had never truly extinguished, even if it’’d become riddled with issues and grown complicated because of them.

“Come on,” he said encouragingly, bumping his muzzle against her cheek, “let’s go.”
