Use caution when the wolf comes knocking;

rougaruyou must use caution, when the wolf comes knocking

The chocolate stallion exhales a sharp breath into the early morning air. The world around him has been silent for some time now, even whispers of Solomon’s death hiss into his thoughts but he knows that he cannot remotely get that lucky. The damned ice king was nearly as lucky with the gods as himself and seemed to have found his own ways to avoid death’s door.

Still, there were many questions that remained unanswered in his mind and Rougaru was tired of sitting idly by and waiting for things to change. Nyimara had the right idea; it was time for action. The first thing he would need to do was bolster his herd number. With this idea firmly in mind, he starts towards the shore. ’DDDDAAAADDDDYYYYY’ the shrill tone of voice makes him cringe inwardly and he reluctantly halts his progress just as the lithe, dancing figure of his silver bay daughter bursts over the nearest hillock. Since being weaned from Vanya, the long legged filly had grown more and more bold as of late and even more nosey and suspicious of his actions. Deep down, the old wolf felt certain that Vanya must have told their daughter to keep an eye on him, it was the only explanation he had for why of all his foals, this one little curious filly decided to keep at his heels from sun up to sun down.

’Daddy… where are you going? Can I come too? Are you going to the crossing island? You promised to take me!’ she bubbles, sliding to a halt at his side. The honey color of her eyes softens whatever frustration manages to make its appearance in his own and he sighs reluctantly. ”Yes I am going to the crossing. Yes I promised you could go with me…” he begins, thumbing through his thoughts for a suitable excuse to leave her behind this time. He was not quite ready for the outside world to know of his bouncing girl. At least not yet. ”But I need you to keep an eye on the herd while I’m gone…” he murmurs, continuing quickly as the look of devastation crossed her small face. ”You will be in charge. Tell your mother I said so.” he adds, a smirk sliding across his lips. That ought to prickle Vanya’s hairs a bit. Why he found such joy in that, he does not quite know. Regardless, he turns his back on the small girl and starts back down the path once more, ”Remember. Guarding the Desert is your responsibility until I get back.” he shouts, picking up his pace towards the shore before Tala could disobey or come up with another reason to protest.
