Re(2): The great golf ball controversy

I know this is an R&A and USGA proposal, but I was surprised by the negative response this received from many of the Tour players. They had some good thoughts on how equipment design Is tailored to the ball, and the possibility of the ball being different in R &A and USGA events if the Tours did not adopt the changes. But no one mentioned the impact on courses that weren’t designed to accommodate todays distances. There are no more par 5 holes anymore based on yardage. Maybe there should be only par 3 and par 4 holes on Tour. Will be interesting to see how all of this unfolds.
