I think Phil is having his regrets because he will not be in the limelight anymore, no Ryder Cup captain, he Presidents Cup captain, no Senior Tour.
He got his money, no question as did Poulter, McDowell, Howell III, and others. They are at the end of their careers and cashed in.
I think you need to look at the others. Smith, Kopeka, DeChanbough, etc. will be under contract until 2025 with LIV and then face a 1 Year reinstatement period before they can re qualify for the tour - so they can play for the remainder of ,23, all of ‘24 and ‘25, and then a penalty year which will wipe out ‘26 - that is along time.
With LIV, they’ll only play about 40 tournaments thru ‘25 and sit a year.
I think if your a pro golfer, you want to playa little more often than those tournaments. JMHO. Replies:
