Repeating the phone number over and over doesn't require show prep. It's a Catch22. Today's talent doesn't DO show prep and today's radio corporations won't HIRE producers to do it.
That's why the listeners get busy signals because the holding lines are already stacked and when they DO get on hold, they have to wait 30 more minutes on hold because the talent keeps prompting them to call right before spot and news breaks.
By the time a caller gets on, the comment they had was for a topic the hour before.
If air traffic controllers did that, circling jetliners would have run out of fuel and crashed. Replies: There have been no replies.
