Jai Alai Memorabilia collection Posted on April 27, 2023 at 04:14:55 PM by Mark K.
Hi, all. It's been a while since my last posting, and I did get a chance to see the live jai alai tournament at Dania this past January. I haven't been watching this site closely for a while, now...things came up, etc.
In any event, I have sadly made a decision to part with my entire collection of jai alai memorabilia, as I am a bit older now and would like to pass it on to someone who wants to own a world class collection...perhaps the greatest in the world...of jai alai memorabilia, including books, programs, collectible cards, photos, pins, bobbleheads...you name it, It is probably in my collection. It includes many one or few of a kind pieces of memorabilia found nowhere else in the world. not only does it include an incredible amount of programs from American frontons, but also many, many programs from Cuba and Mexico, some dating back to the 1920's. I even have an inaugural Tampa Jai Alai program, Volume 1, Number 1, and a complete Chicago Rainbo Fronton program, both of which I have not seen anywhere else. I am also going to part with my copy of Cesta Punta, the Spanish book containing 1000's of biographies of most of the world's top players through history and autographed by some 250 or more players...truly one of a kind. Those few of you who have had an opportunity to view it know the collection's size and depth, which has increased whenever I have come across a piece I feel would add something to the collection.
My choice is of course to sell it at a reasonable price fully intact with nothing held back, so if any of you know of someone who might be interested in the whole shebang, you might make at least two people very happy :-).
As i have gotten older I realize that nothing is forever, and I have had a great run in the collectibles department, but it is time for me to retire for real. This would be a great way to go out on top.
In the event I cannot find a suitable purchaser, I will probably offer individual items, but, while I am not selling to get rid of the collection, my hope is to find a loving home for it (probably close to 8,000 individual items or more.
Should any of you express an interest, please contact me at my Email: emkay517@aol.com, and we can arrange a mutually agreeably time to show it.
Thank you for your support and interest over the yeaes.
