Iriondo’s father was a world-class defensive backcourter. Watching Iriondo win the last two
Matches in battlecourt—he has the potential to be very very good. I agree he needs work, but the best way for this is continued practice and match play. His left side is beautiful, needs to lift it more though.
His Dad was an exceptional catcher with a good reverse. He wasn’t good in singles and had very little right side.
Of course, Goixarri and Aratz’s Dad was a totally different player than his two kids. Goix Sr was an all-around excellent frontcourter but primarily defensive. He was more right side than than left unlike his kids.
