Re(2): KCTV HIRING 8 FULL TIME NEWS PEOPLE

The preceding post must have been made by Jim Ulinek who a few years ago demanded that the original radioman give up his moniker because Jim wanted it.

I did, but Jim didn't use it very long, even tho he's made it his life's role to be embittered about something rman said many years ago about Jim's demand that the public radio station should have installed an elevator in their building for handicapped people to get upstairs.

I don't think they ever did and Jim left being on their board sometime in that period...but he's remained pretty fixated on rman ever since, to the point that afew years ago the banter between him and rman occupied most of the messages here.

That was coincidentally right at the time when radio corporations were consolidating and automatic most of their live time periods. Subsequently, probably no more than a couple dozen old timers even come in this 'room', and the others, like in Central Kansas and Missouri, and St Louis's talk board ceased to exist. Those who claimed to moderate all of them to keep topics about broadasting never did so...so most of those interested in the industry as a discussion wandered off.

That's my view of this discussion board's history but a few others have fixations, like Snowman and his preoccupation with 41's weathercasters, Dirty old Man and HIS preoccupation with the chests of local anchorettes, and a couple right wing posters who come in here because apparently they can't compete with the political addicts on FB, Twitter and the Randian Objectivists on Compuserve from the days before HTML browsing.

Even now, this room's software was never upgraded and there are no visual uploads. Discussing boards have left this place to rarely haveing more than a half dozen people logged in here at a time, and most of those aren't actually watching Gateway at a particular time.

Any of you remember midday jock Jeannie? WHen she left, the exits of most all other live radio people weren't far behind because that was a time of exceptional turnover in local corporate radio.
