turn men into beasts

Tyr had known that the Lagoon would cause him trouble, he had only been surprised it had taken them a few seasons to do it. But when they took the black mare that carried his child, Tyr had once again felt that ugly, slathering, hungry beast within raise its head. It demanded the stallion take vengeance. To crush the brotherhood that now opposed him. All he had done for them; all that he had fought, and bled, for them. Now it seemed those efforts would be against them. As was everyone else he had tried to convince otherwise.

They had been right; he had just been too blind to see it.

Taking his anger out on Psychedelic had felt good; his large hooves connecting against painted skin always a satisfying feeling. But it had not gotten Tyr what he wanted. Instead, he had managed to steal away the troublemaker, rather than the mare who had taken refuge in the Ridge as long as he could remember. He hadn’t even seen her when he had stormed his way into the Lagoon. Hopefully she was doing well, looking after herself. Tyr would not give in, or give up, on bringing her home.

He just had to figure out how.

As he strode up onto the sandy beach of his home, the voice of his hostage spoke up. Tyr couldn’t help it as his ears disappeared into his thick mane. The temper he had just began to lock away, flaring up once more. It was nothing but a game to the boy. Why wouldn’t it be? There had been no real consequences to what he had done. A bit of a vacation by coming here, but nothing else. Tyr wouldn’t kill him, so what did he have to be worried about?

Suddenly, the giant stallion stopped. His two-toned eyes closed, while his mood plummeted into something much darker than before. The taste of blood, the feel of flesh, the audible crunch beneath hoof. All of it became an overwhelming desire that he wanted to fulfill. Opening his eyes again, Tyr looked back at the dark brown boy, and memory came crashing back. He had seen him before in the Forest with his daughter, Grizel.

No, he wouldn’t kill Jigsaw, but he would not give into his cravings either. So, without saying a word, he totally ignored the younger stallion and walked away. Knowing that boredom would be the worst punishment he could give the youth, while also keeping his promise to Oswin that he would be something better.
