The understanding in Saoirse makes her wonder, staring into the golden mare’s eyes with curiosity. So many simply did not understand her world of leylines and what most considered mysticism. For her, there was no such thing - it was simply her life - her reality. She followed the pulse of the magic giving life in the earth like a doctor might follow veins in the body.
The condolences are not false or flimsy, she feels the sincerity (as well as the general resignation to the fact there was little to be done). It does no small bit of good for her, though, that there was someone who truly seemed to understand that destined tragedy without thinking her ultimately a crackpot. The look of understanding sorrow on her face in return was natural, listening to the younger mare lament the passing of her own family.

The small smile that comes after a bit of companionable silence draws Tarot’s attention, the offering that Saoirse makes making her eyes widen just a little in surprise.The full weight of the realization comes late, fighting through the grief and surprise to overcome the mare so greatly that she presses the full front of her large head into that shrugged golden shoulder. "You save her life," she shudders, as if a great burden were lifted and she hadn’t braced to balanced against the lost weight from her back. "I will not interrupt the child’s life by disrupting her bond with her life’s savior. One who understands my way enough to not mock my grief -- it is more grace than I thought to find in a stranger..."
