Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

He listened attentively. Canis was pleased to find out that the stallion before him intimately knew the goings-on and landscape of the Lagoon. Surely that wouldwork to his benefit, yes? Then the pale stallion asked after his own name and background. For whatever reason, both this and Vadim's comments about "the dark's secrets" gave him pause. The dappled male couldn't quite place why, though he'd never heard anyone talk about darkness and secrecy as if the latter belonged to the former. Maybe he just found it odd. This came forth as a short and awkward chuckle that was quickly followed by his response. "I, uh, I guess I'm not quite sure what you mean by that, Vadim."

The wispy ends of his tail brush against the grullo's back legs, allowing the stallion to express his uncertainty quietly. "I am called Canis. I grew up in the Desert across the channel." His largely white head gestures to the stretches of sand across the water behind him. The Desert was all he'd really ever known. Canis had never left home before. Rougaru had not said much to him about leaving and what life might be like outside their home. Sinaet admittedly also knew little of life outside Salem. She had arrived to the islands and then was scooped up shortly afterward to live in the sands. Briefly, he thought about his mother and wondered if she'd given birth to his younger sibling yet. He watches Vadim with a casual but observant eye. What might the other male think but not necessarily say about his origins?
