The silence that hung around the mare seemed to faintly call her into a trance. Her lips moved on their own and her body relaxed to a point. She was no longer standing there on edge, her mind free to just wander as her hooves slowly prowled her farther forward to gain access to grass that was not just all eaten to the roots. Her foraging was peaceful, until that of something captured her attention. Lifting her head from where she graze, the mare narrowed her blue eyes upon a stallion.
The whicker she heard from him had her body shifting into a more sturdy and prominent position. Her tail lashed behind her and the points of her ears could not be seen past her forehead for how pinned they were. Listening to him, Asphara snorted faintly and looked towards the horizon. “Greetings. Company is something I have been without for many moons.” Was her reply. Her head slowly leaving the horizon to set her bright blue eyes upon this stallion, her white nose catching a faint pink hue from the rising sun. One would say she was beautiful, but she would beg to differ with the scars upon her hind legs and haunches.
“I am not from around here. I have just arrived maybe a few hours ago.” The sun had rose some in the sky, but that did not mean it was later in the day than she thought. Huffing out a breath, she kept a wary eye on the stallion when she bent her head back down and began to graze once more. He had no hostility towards her, but she did not trust those that were not her family. He was new, something she had not been around. Asphara came from far away, her home burned to a crisp. Now? She was on a set of islands that made no sense to her. She feared what would come, for her past would always nip at her mind.
