Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

did you ever think that if you got everything
all the records they don't play the same

No. The word was heavy, and Miriella barely concealed the bit of surprise and hurt that rippled quite briefly over her feminine features. She stayed still as he turned then, being the first to walk away, and tried not to feel the way her stomach sank and how empty the clearing seemed without his domineering presence. Miriella’s eyes fell off his retreating figure as the distant shadows swallowed him whole, glancing down to the ground where she could still see the wide grooves of his hooves. The evidence of his lack of care was there, no matter how much she might swear she had seen something else cross his face right before he’d told her no.

She only stood for a second longer in the confusing myriad of emotions she hadn’t expected to feel, then huffed a sigh and rolled her eyes. She knew better than to care or to think she’d have anything better than this, than being a little trinket among many. The feelings she harbored for Vadim were clearly one-sided, his interest in her nothing more than a physical, instinctual draw that couldn’t be helped. It had been smart of her to avoid him this autumn, to avoid making yet another mistake.

There was a small rustle in the underbrush then. Miriella blinked and lifted her head, turning her eyes toward where she’d heard the leaves shake on their branches as though momentarily snagged or brushed. There wasn’t another sound like that but, with her ears pressed forward, she could just hear the low, shallow breaths of a child. Miriella’s ears flicked back with brief annoyance. Of course the girl had been spying. “I hope you’re happy,” she snapped angrily at the brush, “if you’d stayed where I told you to, you wouldn’t have had to see that.” A firm stomp of her hoof vibrated against the ground. “Get out here, Elaine.”

There was only quiet. Miriella’s impatience grew. She cracked her tail and lowered her voice as she spoke next with just a simple, drawn out, “Elaine. Now.”

The bush rustled, and the pale filly stepped slowly out, head low and eyes large, apologetic, and sad. Miriella felt her heart tug at the sight, but grew angrier for it. She had told the girl to stay at the pond chasing frogs. If she hadn’t disobeyed, she wouldn’t have had to see Miriella tell Vadim shen didn’t want to be a mother and she wouldn’t have had to see Vadim’s disinterest in getting to know her. Miriella’s blue eyes stayed hard and sharp down on her daughter as Elaine came to a halt in front of her, head still hanging down low.

“We’re leaving for Luthien in the morning. You’re going to go stay with your aunt. Behave yourself the rest of the evening, stay by me.” Miriella ordered, then turned and started to walk off the opposite direction Vadim had gone. They would make their way up Crossing Isle through the night, sleep on the shores of the Peak, and swim to Luthien in the morning. Then Miriella would drop Elaine off and never have to feel guilty for how terrible of a mother she was again.
