Mission Inn is about 12 miles from me, and is a Spanish style resort hotel and golf community. It’s amid several large lakes and has a unique hilly terrain. It’s in Howey in the Hills. It has two courses; El Campeon and Las Colinas, the latter a nice Gary Koch design. El Campeon has to be close to 100 years old and has undergone several upgrades, lot of hills with uphill, down hill and side hill lies. It is framed with an abundance of majestic oaks. It frequently hosts a variety of college and amateur tournaments, including the state amateur.. last time we played it we had a consensus the course was too hard for people of our age, but it is a beauty!
