We had Red-headed woodpeckers for several years in a row at our Balm Beach cottage before Covid, including a nesting pair with nestlings one year. I assume they were the same ones each year, but can't say whether they had overwintered. Haven't been at the cottage for long enough stretches with suet out for them over the last few years to say whether they are still around.
Hope so--wonderful birds to spot--that red head is an amazing colour!
