Asphara

Mare - Thoroughbred - Chestnut - 15.3hh - Frozen Mist

A howling wind whipped at thin red hair.
Tendrils of mane were locked in a loving embrace, as if they were not meant to be torn apart.
Muscles flexed along a body that was riddled with old scars.
Eyes of two tones danced with a fearful triumph.
A swollen stomach rocked as long legs pulled a creature through sand and water, begging its large frame to pull away from a distant place that terrified them.
Hooves beat the earth with a rhythm that would make many question what a creature could really be running from.

Breezing over a landscape that was beautiful, a mare of red coloring ambled in the breed bred gait. Thoroughbreds had a breezing pace that was faster than a lope, but slower than a full run and it covered ground in an easy grace that could be considered an angel's embrace. Muscles rotated and flexed over bones that were tired, but not ready to stop their run from the place in which they had found themselves cold in the winter and bombarded earlier this spring. This change of events could be dangerous, but onward the mare ran anyways with a stomach swollen to a foal she did not understand the first bit about.

Panting, Asphara blinked her blue and brown eyes before her pace slowed. The wind softly pulled against her pelt, but she did not let it slow her forward movement upon the sandy ocean bank. She was under a ridge, that much she figured when her eyes could not even see the top of the stone structure until she raised her head with slower strides. She was walking finally, knowing that the distance she had traveled would hopefully hide her in this expanse of a lovely area. It was already warmer here than where she had been, her short coat thankful for the change in temperature, even if it was just barely at this time. The sun was just rising and its orange hued light managed to make her red coat look more like a moving flame than that of a chestnut mare.

Something upon the ridge finally did stop the red mares' movement though. Up above her staring at the sunrise was another equine. Their body was too far away to tell what they were entirely, but she knew just by posture that it was not a carnivorous animal. Horses in themselves held a different elegance to them, almost like they were a gift more than a burden. Their large frames were so graceful for some and yet others, they were like giant machines that held power without much thought. Blinking though, Asphara let herself gaze at the horse above her. She could see the mane and tail flow slightly with the breeze, their coat light enough to look almost pink and orange with the suns rising upon the horizon. This space had a beautiful view, that was for sure and for certain.

Asphara seemed to stand there in shock and awe. Up above her was a creature she had never seen before. Muscle, strength, and most likely someone that she should fear. Yet, her adventurous mind had her wanting to go closer… yet she did not know the first way up to where the other horse was. She had not seen anyone since she fled Romaro and the land he had said could harbor her and her foal. She had fled the safety of that land almost feeling suffocated by his urge to have her around. The mare was a runner. When someone hit her with too much all at once, she could not handle it. Her mind would run in circles and cause her to flee the place in which she was welcome. It could be one of her largest faults, but it could also be one of her biggest strengths. She at least knew when it was time to run and save herself from causing more harm than good.

Finally, with her mind working on calming down, the red mare took in a breath before raising her head and let out a knickering call to the horse above. Even if this creature were to cause her harm, at least she knew she was making her own decision one hundred percent on her own.
