Re(3): New Owners

What's Ketz doing? He's been one of their best for years. Back in the day, stations would have three or four of his calibre reporters. In 90, all the stations still did here as well as Wichita which I'm sure had a much lower rate card because it was a smaller market. Wichita was a great feeder market for KC because the the stations had great owners, photostaffs unmatched and a juicy community to cover. KAKE led the excellence because of GM Martin Umansky but KSN was also up to the task and 12 not far behind. My view was that Wichita was a much better news market because it wasn't handicapped with two states and a dozen large suburban cities to cover. KC's always been preoccupied with Kansas City proper's crime, schools, and city govt, so JOCO and other places were largely ignored.

I expect that happens in most larger cities with multiple jurisdictions.

And how bout them chiefs today!
