Re(8): BIG CHANGES COMING TO 107.3FM

No, KC's oldies station plays it safe, only the broadest hits. This is why we need internet delivery in our cars to be commonplace...

With only one station appealing to boomers, they WILL play it safe, hoping to broaden their audience with more recent familiar music, essentially serving NO ONE well.

Everybody seem after the same age demographic and generally ignoring the fringes...like jazz listeners, harder rock listeners. Music is much more diversified than it was in the 50s and 60s.

NOBODY plays the greatest hits, they all just play a select few. And they have never understood listener burnout.

Like restaurants... McDonalds has the same menu, and it works for people who like big macs and quarter pounders but one day people realize they're SICK OF EM...and they dont come back. Possibly EVER.

Do you ever wanna hear the Moody Blues again? Or Orlando's Tie a Yellow Ribbon? Or S&G's Bridge? Radio's overplay ruins many of the songs people love by playing them too long.

Other organizations are much more careful and they ration their best products. Same with cable TV... how many times does America want to watch Titanic or the Godfather trilogy or TopGun?

Hollywood and Disney both run their product for awhile and then pull it off the market for a good while. Like the McRib sandwich!
