Re(1): Multiple Posts On Facebook

But you care what 4 active Visitors care about in this sad web page.

Interesting. Tell us what YOu care about here, and why!

I'll offer you some talking points until tonights severe cloudburst shuts off our electricity at 1 in the morning.

Many Republican voters actually DON'T have anything else to do. They are retired, kids grown and gone, they watch Fox prime time and want to feel connected... they have attitudes about being in the Fourth Act of their lives, they are naturally conservative and holding onto life tightly.

What else they got to do but watch Fox and talk about the economics they learned in school back in the 1960s? And their grandchildren.

A guy in the media should have a better handle on the universe of possible listeners to his outlet...but you clearly don't.

I understand the audience and the feelings of Americans. I'm retired, on the internet a lot, widely read and have a better than average understanding of American history and its multiple cultures.

Why do I get it but you say you don't? I didn't go to a big name school, but I was in the news media for some 30 years, and not imprisoned in the newsroom. I got out amongst them. Experienced growing up as a boomer and raised two millennials who were social, so I learned a great deal about their generation.

And I keep up and actually pay attention to what they say on social media. I have a wide list of places I read, conservative, liberal, non-political, olders, youngers. I studied the last 400 years of AMerican history closely and learned how to observe and look, as I've said before, at events and opinions, looking for trends--separating isolated views from the conventional thinking of their times.

How can I help you understand what I've learned? Maybe you should ask questions instead of offering opinions before you decree what 'no one cares about'! Clearly they do. Maybe its just that YOU don't care about such things!

I woudl say I've always been intellectually curious about many things, luckily I was paid to go find out, analyze them, and write what I'd learned in the media. It was damned good training.

If your experience NEAR the media was more similar to mine IN the media, you would have a much better handle on what people care about and even know where they get their ideas.

Did you watch the Republican's disasterous primary debate tonight? I missed it live but caught it on Fox Business at midnight, right before the storm hit here.

Yup they be in deep shit--not a decent candidate amongst them. Only what happens to Trump legally will decide who will be nominated. It won't be because of anything the other candidates are doing. Just like last time, they're alll over the road. I think that's because the Republcian party isn't capable of attracting worthy candidates in the political environment they, and the tea party zealots have created.

30 years ago, they had good people... not today. Marjorie Taylor Green and the Florida governor DeSantimonious are NOTHING compared to the Republicans I covered years ago, including my old boss, Senator Nancy Kassebaum (R-Kansas) and her buds like Bob Dole.

Were you around during the Watts riots of the mid 60s? I was. What happened in Philly yesterday is no different that what happened even in Kansas City 70 years ago. I was involved in the black culture by chance at that time, even after growing up in white JOCO. And then was in the military with them.

I get it completely. I understand the mass shooters, the picked on, alienated nerds who shoot up their schools. Thats why I lecture on the role of parents in how their kids turn out.

One of my pet phrases I use often on the internet is, "It's easier to raise em right than to fix them after they're broken."

Maybe you're just not on the right websites, Jim. And you're preoccupied with the wrong things. Thats clear enough, mostly because you dont seem to have much insight about the society we live in to share here.

It's a little late in life to catch up, but I could help you with some of that, at least the Dummy's Guides, which are the Cliff Notes version of History of our species and western Civilazations.

Can't help ya much on math and science, I was a liberal arts guy. Oddly enough both of my offspring had STEM interests...we just bought their books and let them choose their own way and both of them have advanced degrees. I shoudl have gotten degrees too, but not from classroom academics, but from being lucky enough to get into journalism. There was rarely a boring day. So after awhile, ya discover it kinda all fits together. I do agree with you, Republicans are morons...and yes, Fox has indeed dumbed down 40 percent of the electorate!
