Old men tend to get very judgmental, which is surprising, since they went through the freedom of 1970. Never figured out how idealistic boomers ended up as hypocritical as their 1950s parents who were suppressed when they were young.
And then today's girls who are suppressed even tho their mommies went braless in 1970 after Woodstock. Today's younger adults would be shocked if they knew how wild we were when we discovered drugs and free love. Course this is the Bible belt and lots of kids were sheltered and still racists. THey're the ones not taking the liberal media of today very well! We can tell all the show writers grew up in California. Just finished binge watching Netflix' "Society", finally getting around to it.
IT needed one more season but maybe the last episode was enough to teach the young people that if they want to fix fascism, they'll have to do it themselves. But it did teach them about today's "Society" where the assholes can seize power when too many people aren't paying attention! I don't think they teach any of that in 9th grade Citizenship class! It teaches them what happens when people do nothing and accept, "Better red than dead."
That's the flaw in advocating gun confiscation and also what happens when you let the fascists win over democracy. It was filled with important political lessons between all the steamy sex scenes of kids living without parental supervision.
