At the Shell station down the street, they will scan your ticket to see if you won. Most gas station have it on the counter so you can do it yourself. They keep their behind the counter so you hand it to them and they tell you if you won. Then they ask “Do you want me to throw it out for you?” Needless to say, I buy my tickets there but check them myself at another gas station with the reader out in the open.
