Re(1): 710 programming line up

The technology has replaced local broadcasting just like it has ma and pa retailers.

What were once good occupations for young people to study to earn a career in the workplace now won't sustain them for the 50 years they must work.

Educated specialization is the only answer and the hard part is looking at today's economy to decide what skills will provide that half century career in light of the changing technology and marketplace.

I'd hate to be a kid making career decisions but one thing's clear. A HS education is utterly inadequate for this American century. Both my kids have STEM educations and careers. (If you missed it, STEM stands for "Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics.") They'll be okay, I think.

Gonna be a lot of men competing to cut our grass and drive UPS delivery trucks--things that CAN'T be automated!
