Re(2): Some more...

Yeah, I hear ya. Well that's the internet for ya. WHo goes to the library anymore but mommies and little kids when she can tear them away from their ipads. My kid says incoming college students can't read and don't know the necessary HS background to pass classes. Schools are getting away with taking anybody with tuition money. And the influx of foreign students is down.... I conclude we're just becoming a visually oriented society and info is delivered over the interactive net. Lotta people now getting podcasts instead of reading magazines and newspapers. I know abt the Star, it was a daily shopper before we left. County papers aren't being thrown to driveways and so nobody's covering local politics in large markets...nobody in KC cares abt Clay county except residents there. The regional Sun editions are long gone.

Fox doesn't cover news but from the Republican point of view and thats a lot of Americans who've tuned out of the world. Eww, I didn't mean to turn this into a diatribe on world going to hell. SOrry. Caught a bad cold this weekend, I gotta go out and cut grass before it turns cold. Thanks for the real discussion in here. Its been refreshing! I'll just add that most of what I learned about health care, I was paid to know...we had beats and over the years, I'd done education, medicine, utilities, aviation and of course we all chased tornados and local politics and crimes--even big trials. It was great fun. rm
