FTVLive FIRST told you that Scripps was looking to make cuts in their stations' Creative Services departments, and yesterday was that day.
A Creative Services Director tells FTVLive, "Each of us (except the two “lucky” ones who are now Station Managers) is being told our last day is 12/15 and that we are eligible to apply for one of a few positions that are being created to oversee multiple stations’ creative services departments."
"They seem very proud that they’re offering some severance," the Scripps employee tells FTVLive, adding, "Basically, if you want a job you have to compete with someone who may be a close friend or colleague."
One Scripps staffer called it the "Scripps Hunger Games."
Sources tell FTVLive that more cuts are coming at Scripps stations, and more live newscasts will be dropped for pre-recorded shows.
As one GM told FTVLive, "Scripps was once a proud company to work for, but not anymore."
