Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

I SEE DARKNESS IN YOU

ISENGRIM.
He'd said goodbye to whatever life he'd had before when he stepped into the lagoon for the first time. It had been overwhelming at first but Isengrim had quickly adapted to the shift in his life. The speckled stallion was resting quietly beneath a tree, the water lapping quietly at his sides. It had been quiet lately, and he wondered what had caused such a thing. Perhaps it was the disappearance of the boss, or maybe there were less brothers. It was hard to tell, but he was curious. He hadn't put much stock in his actual family. He'd gone to visit his father, whose bite was certainly worse than his non-existent bark. A part of him had once considered asking to take a place at his side, but he didn't want the cold, and he didn't want to be there, with his father.

His mother, he loved her dearly. But there was no place for him in the desert. And for a time he thought there was no place for him anywhere. Until he'd found the lagoon. It was made up of a band of brothers, all with varying ideals and personalities. It was strange, at first, but Isengrim had found his stride rather easily.

With a groan, Isengrim pulled himself to his feet and peered across the greenish waters. He could see, and smell, his brothers in the distance. His family. The one he chose. With a shake of his salt and pepper mane, Isengrim eased himself into the shallows. Each step of his speckled legs left ripples in the water.

He stepped out of the shallows, find a small patch of grass suitable for grazing and quickly dipped his head. He flicked his tail lazily across his hocks as he began to eat. He wondered how long such peace would last. Whether he would have a quiet afternoon or a quiet week...a month...a year? He doubted it, but only time would tell.
