Sephiroth flicks his gaze to the other stallion, the accusation of it being Sephiroth's fault is not missed. He is displeased by the question, especially having it be his first instinct but remains silent. The annoyance is clear enough on his face without saying anything. While he does want his innocence to be known, it's irrelevant in the grand scheme. The mare was in a predicament and that was more important in the moment than his offence and so, reluctantly, he flicks his attention back to her. His tensed jaw relaxes and he takes a step back, to allow Violeta more room to breathe. Being stuck in a tree had to be worse when two strange men were crowding you.

"It's gone," he assures her, quietly, about the snake. He was quite sure he had stomped into oblivion but it was hard to tell among the leaves and other debris on the ground. It was gone, at least for now, and if it came back Sephiroth would not hesitate to act again. It was not some knightly duty, it was instinct, one he was glad to have.

"Of course," he steps forward, using his height to easily reach the offending branch. She is tangled well and good and Sephiroth is careful not to bite her as he chews at the offending bit of wood. With a small snap the branch breaks, a few leaves fluttering to the ground as it does.

He cannot help but think of his son, Masamune. When he was little he had been playing in the dense foliage of the Thicket and when he'd come out, Sephiroth was convinced he'd had half the territory stuck in his tiny little mane and scraggly tail. It had taken Masa's mother hours to pull every little bit out while the young colt laughed the entire time. There was a time when he did not think that was the life he had wanted for himself. Originally he had wanted the Inlet so that his father would have to look at him. See him, truly, see him. And when that had failed, he'd claimed the Thicket. For what? But something had change. Shifted, inside him. He wanted a herd, a family, and he'd gotten that.

Sephiroth could not smell another stallion on her, at least not from where he was standing, having backed off after relieving her of the branch. He'd planned on inviting her to the Thicket, but the presence of the other stallion had clearly changed his plans. And so Sephiroth dips his head, "You should be alright now." His unsaid words hang in the emptiness and he half turns, gaze flicking over the distant shore.
