It ironic I just read a article about someone who took 20,000 steps a day for 30 days and the benefits he felt from doing the walking.
With the average person stride about 2.1 to 2.5 feet, it works out that 10,000 steps equate to about 5 miles. So this guy was walking about 10 miles a day. Also, at about 3 mph as a walking pace, it takes about 3 hours and 20 minutes every day.
Now you got a retirement goal. 5 miles would be plenty. Keep it up.
