Seeing her mother leave her behind had been heartbreaking, but she trusted her dam. The dark classic champagne stuck close to Nahawi's side when he was near, but she spent most of her time hidden. She was told not to find herself alone with any of the other stallions except for Nahawi. The filly did her best to stick to that peice of advice and she had been successful.
Then one day the red stallion mentioned having a place to hide her until her safety could be ensured. He said the Lagoon was in election for a new leader so it was unknown what would happen next. She was nervous, but mother had said she could trust him so she would try. Plus, the filly didn't really understand the stallion's politics or how their ranks worked. She was afraid she might come across someone who would try to claim her as their mate despite her age.
Nahawi comes to her today to make she is safe. Zavi smiles up at the stallion when suddenly a figure approaches from the shadows. The yearling quickly ducks behind the red stallion for cover, but Nahawi does not seemed bothered by the stranger. Then he says those fated words. "Zavi, let's get you home." She wonders if this large ebony stallion was the one he had been talking about. The one who would keep her safe in the Forest. With the turn of events in the Lagoon Nahawi now had the power to set her free so she wouldn't need to be relocated. She could go home.
The dark filly is ecstatic as she swims next to the stallions escorting her safely home. Reaching the beach of her birth home Zavi could not contain herself. She squeals with excitement, shaking her body dry, before anxiously waiting as the stallion's called for her grandmother. "Speech." |
